Extremely rare american art deco lamp manufactured by the Markel Coproration.
The lamp features a swiveling double shade below a very machine age finial anda 2 stacked discs on the base , a wonderful example of machine age styling.
All of lamps manufacturers which were active during the 30s, the Markel company was certainly the one which propagated the image of technology and futurism in their products and probably inspired many science fiction authors and comics in terms of design.
